An Algorithm For All Things Hair
HairLibrary.com Embraces Social Commerce with Hair Texture & Product Matching Platform
HairLibrary.com is a social commerce platform; matching consumers with hair-care products based on their hair type and texture. This passionate community of enthusiasts, stylists, beauty bloggers and manufacturers are united across the globe to collectively revolutionize how people approach hair-care.
Employing its patent pending technology, HairLibrary.com presents a simple solution to discover the right product based on your hair type and texture, rather than ethnicity or geographic location.
By embracing user-generated media, the community can shares reviews of 1,000+ hair-care products and add video hair tutorials. Users can tag products by sharing their hair story, which follows the products throughout the library, helping to inspire and guide others along their own hair journey.
HairLibrary.com’s social sentiment allows brands to be acknowledged by the community for the quality of their products’ performance, rather than the influence of flashy marketing campaigns.
This idea was born from the personal struggle of CEO & Founder Morgan R. Gantt. After finding herself frustrated many times standing in the beauty isle of her local retail store, she was unable to distinguish the benefit of one hair product over another. “The method of trial and error in beauty, especially hair, is an expensive undertaking and can also be very damaging to your hair. Throughout my travels around the world it became apparent how widespread hair struggles are for all people of different ethnic backgrounds and hair types, exclusive of my own personal expereinces,” says Gantt.
HairLibrary.com has a growing marketplace where consumers can shop, share their hair story and build their own product library directly from featured brands such as; Kimble Beauty, Dry Divas, ColdLabel, LisaRaye Hair Products, Mixtina and Basic Hair Care.
Throughout her career, Gantt has worked with national beauty labels such as Hype Hair Magazine, Juicy, Today’s Black Woman, Upscale Magazine & Pop Star. In addition, she is the author of The Lace Wig Bible: How To Style, Care & Maintain Lace Wigs Without Sacrificing Your Natural Hair, published in 2012 (Available at Amazon.com).
“HairLibrary.com is a beautiful place for discovery and the sounding board for all people to share their personal experiences and for brands to listen,” Gantt concludes.
